ACTIVATING YOUR SPIRIT MAN

To activate is to make something start working or effective. In like manner to activate your spirit man is to remain divinely connected. When your spirit is activated you will always have access to the immeasurable treasures of our father in heaven John 3:27.
You might be wondering how you can activate your spirit man. One of the ways which you can activate your spirit man is continuous study of the word of God. Note that I did not say READ but STUDY, because reading will only expose you to the logos (the written word) but study and meditation will expose you to the rhema (the divinely inspired word). It is until you get the rhema behind the word and put it to practice that you will be able to access God’s divine treasure of which one is success. Joshua 1:8- this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall MEDITATE in it day and night that you may observe to DO according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then YOU WILL HAVE GOOD SUCCESS. From the above scripture it is not just to study and sit down but would have to do (to practice the word) for you to be a success.
II Tim 2 :15 says study to show yourself approved unto God… this is to say that when you study the word of God you are enlightened in the truth if his word and if you go further to do that which the word of God says you will be approved unto God and in this case SUCCESS is inevitable. Give yourself to the study God’s word because it is a manual for success.
Man is a spirit who has a soul and lives in the body that means that we have to pay more attention to the spirit than the physical body. It is your spirit the listens through your physical ears and sees through you physical eyes therefore you will have to train your spirit man to see and hear the right things.
To activate your spirit man you have to give yourself to prayers (in understanding and in tongues). Prayer is communication with God, talking to God and automatically connecting with God. James 5:16 says the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous prayer avails much. Therefore as a prayerful believer you will be divinely connected to God’s treasures. Faith is an important ingredient for prayer answered. No matter how small your faith is God is faithful to his word because Jesus said in mark 9: 23- if you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.
There is this young girl who missed school for two weeks because her fee was not paid. She was just ten and she walked up to her mother and said ‘’mum I dreamt I went to school so I am going to school tomorrow’’. Her mother laughed because she knew there was no way she was going to get the money before the next day but surprisingly she was called by the school that the proprietor had paid the school fees of some students of which her name was enlisted. This had never happened in her school before. Now that’s the faith of a little child provoking results, so I see no reason why your faith mixed with prayers won’t work for you.
It is one thing to pray it is another thing to be consistent. I The 5: 17 says pray without ceasing. You have to continue in prayers, it avails much.

PERSISTENCE: THE SECRET TO LASTING SUCCESS.
I'm sure you have heard so much about the powerful word 'Persistence', and you are wondering why this word has been so much talked about by successful people. The truth is that you can't get to the peak of your career without this virtue. It is an unavoidable tool in the race of life.
Now I've got a little activity for you to do and this will broaden your understanding on this subject. Take up the biography of five or more successful people, read them carefully and you will see the way persistence was demonstrated in the pursuit of a successful life and career. Life as they say, is not a bed of roses. There will be up's and down's, there will be challenges but your ability to foresee your success and keep pressing on will guarantee your victory. I've always said this and i will repeat it again here that any process worth going through will get tougher before it gets easier and the only virtue that will keep you through those rocky times is persistence.
Persistence is not an in-born trait, rather it is a state of mind, meaning that it is a virtue that can be formed. History has it that Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Ray Kroc, Abraham Lincoln, Mary Kay Ash, Andy Groove among others were successful people who developed this virtue and it showed extensively in their various businesses and careers. There is a story of a journalist who asked the founder of IBM what he would do if he wanted to succeed faster, and he told the curious journalist to double his rate of failure because success lies at the far end of failures. What does that tell you friends? There is no substitute for persistence in the pursuit of a successful life.
Now i'm writing to someone who is at the point of giving up in his/her academics, business or career, there is great success ahead of you only if you could just continue with a burning desire to accomplish that which you have set out to do. See yourself as a person who owns a large piece of landed property blessed with gold, you have to dig deeper and deeper until you strike that precious element Gold.
Outlined below are 4 guidelines necessary to assist you in developing the virtue of Persistence.
1. Have a definite purpose backed up with a burning desire.
2. Have a strong willpower to win.
3. Draw out a definite plan and continue to work that plan
4. Keep a positive attitude.
In the movie "The ultimate gift", one of the precious lesson i learnt and has continued to remain with me is that life should be lived not on avoiding problems but welcoming them as challenges that will strengthen us so we can be victorious in life; and persistence is the secret to achieve victory and success after the season of challenges.

ACTIVATING YOUR MIND FOR SUCCESS

                                      ACTIVATING YOUR MIND FOR SUCCESS
You become what you think about, where you are today is simply a product of your thoughts so far. Your achievement is a product of your mind and not your physical strength. Everything you do to improve your life must relatively improve your mind. Let us consider some laws by Brain Tracy;
The Law of Belief: To change your reality you must change your belief about yourself
The Law of Expectations: Whatever you expects with confidence becomes your self fulfilling prophecy. Hence it is absolutely essential that you continually expects the best from yourself and every situation. The must successful man and woman makes it a goal to develop a positive self expectancy.
The Law of Attraction : You attract people that have similar dominant traits with you, therefore to attract positive people you need to always think positive. Your thoughts are like electric magnets that attracts people with similar thoughts.
The Law of Concentration : Whatever you dwell upon on your conscious mind grows in your experience. Your thoughts are developed by concentration.
The Law of Substitution: The conscious mind can only hold 1000 thoughts at a time whether positive or negative. If you wish to have positive experience in mind you need to keep your mind focus on positive thoughts. Positive events connotes positive circumstances. Thoughts and feelings must be mixed to generate a conscious direction.
The Law of Repetition: To develop any skill, you need to learn and practice it to become automatic. Positive people don't have to remind themselves of being positive but the remain positive because their thoughts pattern has become positive for so long. It is a habit for them team reflect positive experience.

ACTION PLAN :Determine to use this laws consciously in your everyday living.

BEHIND THE SCENE

BEHIND THE SCENE: are the actions that take place in the process of being successful. Sometimes we see a lot of successful people and naturally we wish to be like them. A great man once said " A man that wakes and meet success is not asleep", hence something has been done behind the scene before going to sleep. I would be sharing 7 vital actions that take place BEHIND THE SCENE.
1. STRONG INTERNAL LOCUS OF CONTROL
This is the major determinant for success. You must specifically desire to be successful without anybody forcing you to be. It's a stimulant whose effect is infinte.
2. FOCUS IS NOT ENOUGH
Focus is NOT what motivates you, you must motivate yourself to maintain focus. in the face of  obstacles and drought, stay inspired enough to maintain focus.
 3.DECISION MAKING
Where you are now is directly proportional to the decisions you have made so far. When selecting your choices be very careful: focus on the consequences of that decision before making it. Your choices in all areas of life are very delicate. so be SMART when selecting them.
4. LAW OF ASSOCIATION
This law states that you become exactly who you associate with. when selecting team members, friends, partners e.t.c make sure they have similar assignments with you or those who are willing to learn. Some friends are enemy in disguise. Note never associate with a gas because they diffuse anytime, anywhere and any day. Select solid friends who are always your backup or your container. You can also select liquid friends who are always on motion  with you.
 5. KNOWLEDGE ACCUMULATION
Those who are on top and are still there are those who are constantly renewing their minds by engulfing relevant information either by reading or listening. You must always be hungry for information, if you want to remain relevant in your field. Abraham Lincoln once said """   I do not take a man seriously who does not advance positively today from where he was yesterday""
So let us continually develop ourselves. Opportunities are not destroyed but only transferred to some one else.
6. GOAL SETTING
The power of goal setting can never be over emphasized. it's very crucial, it makes you avoid guess work because you have a plan. A goal set is a work half down, let us endeavor to set goals. Both long and short term goals should be efficient ( doing right things) and effective (doing things right). Set your goals and you will surely score.
7 CATALYST.
For every reaction a catalyst is necessary. Note this; without God, it might be possible for you to succeed, but you cant be sure of a bright tomorrow. But a christian is sure of a bright today and even a brighter tomorrow. Unbelievers are taking over the world, so let us wake up and dominate. We need more kingdom ambassadors in nation building. REMAIN BLESSED

DYNAMICS OF OPPORTUNITIES

Opportunity misused are never lost but transferred to someone who will effectively utilize it. I welcome you to another episode of SUCCESS FROM WITHIN, we will be treating a vital topic called THE DYNAMICS OF OPPORTUNITIES. Benjamin Franklin made a profound statement "To succeed, jump as quickly at opportunities as you do at conclusions". Opportunities need not only to be accepted but we must respond to them strategically by understanding the principles that governs them. Let us consider some platforms of Opportunities:
1. SPIRITUALITY: You must know that spirituality is a catalyst for life's reaction, hence every vision given by God to man is a genuine and true idea which can make him rule his entire world. Every genuine encounter with God is a lifetime encounter. In order for you to take advantage of the opportunities given to you by God, you must always remain spiritually sensitive. The kingdom was transferred to David from Saul due to the act of Misuse. 2 Samuel 5;
 2. MENTAL ASSESSMENT: Ideas do not lead to transformation but it is the effective Utilization of ideas that leads to transformation. Ideas are equivalent to opportunities, treat every idea you have as a seed, nurture it with a very suitable condition that wont kill the seed. Your seed cant satisfy you in the place of food, that is the same way ideas are not enough to create a reality for you, they must be worked upon. Ideas are so numerous that is why they are dynamic, ignite your idea and rule your world. A farmer who plants more crops in a dry season has willingly applied to a school of lose. Opportunity is a favorable and advantageous circumstance, hence play smart with your ideas. Finally don't wait for opportunities, strive for them, a funny quote by Benjamin Franklin, "he that waits upon the future is never sure of dinner". "AD EUNDUM QUO NEMO ANTE IIT"--To boldly go where no one has gone before.

KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY

In our series of SUCCESS FROM WITHIN, this week we shall be focusing on a powerful tool called KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY. It has always been said and proven that intellectual capacity is the power of a nation. You will pay for everything you don't know and others will pay you for what you know. have found out that the amount of sweat excreted by a person is inversely proportional to his wealth. Your net worth is the worth of your knowledge and ignorance. Many persons have big bodies and small minds because they prefer to feed their bodies with food to feeding their minds with information.
A lot of christians are so religious that they forget the place of personal development by engulfing relevant informations and they also tend to assume their laziness for Grace. It's time for you to wake up and stop the unrighteous ones from accumulating all the riches which are your glorious inheritance. The only difference between a rich man and a poor man is ignorance, the poor ignores so many things that can make him wealthy. You must discover what you need to know to succeed. When you become what God wants you to be then anything higher than you is too much and anything lower is too small. Everyhuman being has the same number of brain cells. Wake up and Rule your world. Have a Perfect week.

A DYNAMIC YOUNG LEADER WHO HAS BALANCED HIS LIFE VIA EFFECTIVE GOAL SETTING PRINCIPLES.

Emmanuel Iruobe is a Covenant University Student who will be in his final year by September 2012, he is a mentor to many, he was the first student to ever become the vice-chairman student council at a lower lever(200l) and he also became the chairman student council in the next tenure. Mr Iruobe has  a leadership NGO called "LEGACY". He has so much balanced  his life due to his various activities and busy schedule. He is a fist class student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In this interview, he will tell us more about himself and his principles of goal setting.

General background Information:

I am a missile following a pre-determined trajectory, a Nigerian who is dedicated to driving certain changes in humans, particularly Nigerians.
I have a passion for Leadership, ensuring the Personal Development of Myself and others, and running systems and businesses. To this end, I speak at seminars and workshops; I also mentor individuals who are crazy about the things that move Me ensuring that knowledge is transferred to willing vessels.
I am very particular about making every minute count, so I don’t waste time, I develop systems and structures to ensure effective Time Management and utilization. Time Management ranks as number 2 in My set of Core Values.

What do you understand by Goal Setting:

It’s simple. Everyone has to have a vision, an overall vision for their lives, if you don’t currently have one, you must get it because all of your time management is so that you can create enough time to handle this vision. Your goals are the things you want to achieve, such that, by achieving these goals, you eventually live out your vision. Plans are the steps you take on a short, medium or long term in order to achieve your goals and consequently live out your vision for your life.
This is a very extensive topic, and I’m sure there’d be questions; I spend hours teaching this single concept in My trainings and seminars. Perhaps MrAjayi will arrange for another interview with some more specific questions in this regard or you send Me a message via Facebook.

You will agree with me that you are a rare gem, can you tell us about your time management skills:

My philosophy is simple: everyone has enough time to do whatever needs to be done and achieved, we’re just not all dedicated to utilizing our time optimally. A whole lot can be done in 24 hours as a matter of fact; but you must be creative in extracting maximum value from your time.
Right now, I work for a coy in Lagos and I spend 7 hours working per work day. I then spend 9 hours on My own personal development (reading, researching, consuming audios and relevant video programs). You will be shocked but I can afford to sleep upto 8 hours everyday if I want to, check it out: 7+9=16 and 24-16=8. I still have 8 hours free to do whatever I want to do even though I work 7 hours per day for others and 9 hours per day for Myself. Anybody can do this.
Now, in order to make this work, I utilize all free times. This is a little picture of My daily personal development routine:

6am – 8am (on the way to work): I listen to audio books and relevant audio materials.
12pm – 2pm (during break): I read a book.
5:30pm – 7:30pm (on the way from work): I continue with audio programs.
7:30pm – 9pm (while handling cooking and domestic chores): I play a productive audio or video in the background.
9pm – 11pm: I continue reading the book, and end with a video program.
If you evaluate this, it amounts to 9 hours and 30 minutes spent on My own personal development everyday and this does not affect My job in any way. Plus, I can sleep for 8 hours from 11pm to 5am if I decide to (but I never do this).
There’s time everywhere, we’re not all just dedicated to finding a way to extract maximum value from it.

How do you plan:

I operate from document, not from thought. Most people don’t seem to understand that the mind was designed for creativity while pen and paper were designed for storage. My plans are systematically laid out such that they lead Me straight to My goals (whatever they may be per time).
Planning is very necessary: 1 minute spent in planning saves you 10 minutes in execution (I used to think it was 5 minutes initially), so planning gives you a 1000% return on investment. You must know, however, that planning takes time; but you must give it as much time as it takes.
It’s really simple. Decide what you want to achieve (goal), then decide what things you need to do in order to achieve what you want to achieve. List them in a step-by-step format and get to work on it at once; there really should be no time for time wastage.
Note that if you enter into an unplanned day, you are literally setting up yourself for unproductivity. This has happened to Me many times so I know it’s true.

Tell us a bit about how you balanced your academics with your tight leadership role in Covenant University:

Again, My concepts are simple. If I want to achieve academic success on the one hand and leadership success on the other, I must create time for both. And whenever I spend too much time doing one, I have to ignore that one for a while (only for a while, not totally) and focus on the other. Many people make the error of focusing too much on one thing at the very expense of every other thing and make out no time to work on the others – it has to be a balance.
With this understanding, I handled both areas, by the Grace of God. I led and when My leadership was taking too much of Me, I deliberately created time for academics. Also, I never missed classes, it has been My long standing policy to not miss classes right from My first year.

Can you tell us a little about your leadership organization "LEGACY":

The Legacy Leadership Syndicate started as a small group in 2010. The vision came out of a passion to drive a Leadership revolution in Nigeria. We started out by designing Leadership courses, organizing trainings and workshops and I also speak at multiple places. If you’ve been following this interview you will realize that our approach to running Legacy gives a classic example of goal setting and planning.
Vision: Driving a Leadership Revolution.
Goals: Design Leadership Courses, organize strategic trainings and workshops, and speak at events.
Plans: Invest in gathering leadership materials, discipline self and team members to study, ensure collaboration with strategic partners having similar vision, accept speaking invitations.
This is just a snapshot of what our vision-goal-plan structure looked like at inception, it’s a lot more advanced now. I hope this gives you an idea of translating your vision into goals and then plans.
Legacy is on Facebook, we currently have about 9,400 members and we’re growing exponentially; it’s an open group so anyone can join us by searching for us on Facebook (type in ‘Legacy’ in the search field) and requesting to join.

Can you give the youth out there a word of encouragement about personal development:

You are not a waste and you are not designed to be irrelevant. You are a strategy designed to achieve a particular goal. You must find that goal and set to work on developing yourself to the point where you can achieve it. Anyone can make something out of what seems to be nothing, so making excuses because you’re from a poor background or lost parents or whatever is simply Un-intelligent. Life has not always been sweet with Me, but I found a way – you must do same.
I realize this may not be totally easy (eventhough the concept is simple) so I will be making Myself available to answer your questions and give advice on handling challenges. Simply get in touch with Me via Facebook (Emmanuel Iruobe).

Thank you Mr Emmanuel. Remain globally relevant.

THE POWER OF GOAL SETTING

In this week's episode of SUCCESS FROM WITHIN, we shall be focusing on a vital topic called THE POWER OF GOAL SETTING. Statistics shows that less than 25% of people have a well defined goal and using Nigeria as a case study, statistics shows that about 20% of the country's population belongs to the upper class. Many persons believe that success is just a matter of luck, but you need to understand that having a set goal is a challenge half solved since you are already on the course. The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score. Goals are not only absolutely necessary to mature us but they are essential to really keep us alive. Think of a successful person that is close to you and you will find out that he is a Goal oriented person.
Kurt Thomas said that "The most important step in any major accomplishment is setting a specific goal. This enables you to keep your mind focused on your goal and off the many obstacles that will arise when you're striving to do your best." Routine activities can consume your day but it's important to take time to form plans and goals to give your life direction and meaning. Set a goal you want to achieve at the end of this week and you will see how goal setting helps to grow as a faster rate. Watch out for an interview of a successful goal setter on www.success4rmwithin.blogspot.com.

THE YOUNG NIGERIAN MULTI-MILLIONAIRE THAT STARTED BY SELLING BISCUITS WHILE BEING A STUDENT

Rotimi Olabamijo started his business as a student with just 2000 naira. And with much hard work, discipline and sagacity, he was able to raise the capital he required to finance his premier company. Today, barely four years after his graduation, he is an employer of labour and a widely known business phenomenon. In this rare interview he tells us more about himself and he reveals details about his life and experiences.

 General background information?
My name is Rotimi Olabamijo. I am the last of 8 children. I graduated in 2009 from Covenant University and I am currently a serial entrepreneur involved in several businesses. I am a Christian entrepreneur who has a vision to promote Christian living and enable qualitative living and I am currently running my MBA. I am an author also and I have authored the book Forex trading: the 11 pitfalls of traders and it will soon be in its 2nd print.
You started business as a student…can you tell us more about it?

Yeah…It’s really a long story, but I will tell you nevertheless.
Like you said, I started business as a student in Covenant University, in my 200 level. I started with 2000 naira that I saved up by eating 1 meal per day for a period. My quest into business was not an ad-hoc event. It started when I realized that it was important for me to start raising capital for myself, seeing that I was being raised by a single parent and didn’t want to work for anybody after graduation. With the little money I saved up, I bought some cartons of biscuits that I sold during the period of youth-alive that year. This was my humble beginning, and through prudence, focus and hard work in three months I was able to multiply my sales to about 27 cartons per week. I then decided it was time to expand my purview of business. I started pancake selling…I was the one who started that line of business in Covenant University. It wasn’t long before I also started selling drinks. And then my strategy changed again. I discovered that it was time to move into some form of professional business…so I ventured into multi-level marketing. I was the one that brought quest net to Covenant University. For those of you that remember the bio-disc era, I was the student that brought it to Covenant University. And then during the heat of that period, I took time out to meditate and re-strategize. I discovered that I was investing so much into other people’s ideas, and neglecting mine. It was then that I decided to start my own business, and this was towards the end of my stay in the university. I began Forex whiz kid consult, a training, trading and investment outfit. That was the beginning of my business quest.
You will agree with me that doing business as a student is quite different from doing business out there. What is the most difficult challenge you faced transiting?
The most difficult challenge I faced was generating credence and credibility all over again. When you get out there, people want you to prove your capabilities to them, irrespective of your exploits while being a student. It doesn’t really matter how much you had achieved before…they want you to prove yourself some more. It was a major challenge initially, but I was able to conquer it quickly because found out what I had to do and did it.
How did you solve it?
I made sure I was humble and I developed my networking skills. I networked with those who were leaders in the fields I desired to dominate. I attended conferences and seminars and developed myself…this got me much of the endorsements I later got, especially for my clothing line. I also had to work very hard and I made sure I seized every opportunity there was to prove myself and my abilities.
Tell us a bit about your clothing line?
The name of my clothing line is Christian casual wear. It started as an idea in 2007…from an assignment given to me by my Entrepreneurial Development Studies (EDS) lecturer to write a business plan. But the idea didn’t start until 2010, after I had done much research and preparations.
Your clothing line has received so many endorsements by so many great personalities within and outside the country. Can you tell us about how that happened?
Every business has a competitive strategy. Our strategy at Christian casual wear is to use our endorsements to gain global prominence, and that has worked. When your idea solves a big problem in the society, you will get the right endorsements from the right people. And that was what happened to me.
You were successful Forex trader and investor. What motivated you into fashion?
At the initial stage of my business, I had 7 ways I conceived of to promote Christian faith and fashion was one of them. So it wasn’t an adhoc event that led me into fashion…It was deliberately mapped out and executed.
You have been into trading, training, investing, fashion, network marketing…and a host of other businesses. What should we expect from you in the nearest future?
Expect more media to promote Christian faith and quality living. There is a lot in the process…
What is your guiding philosophy?
My guiding philosophy is from a quote by Dorothy brown, ‘ No matter how far-fetched or unattainable your dream may be, if you have faith In God and in yourself enough to stay at work, God will bring into your life those who out of love for him and for you will help you make the dream come true’. I think about these words every time…
What is the most priceless book you have ever read?
How to win friends and influence people, by Dale Carnegie.
In 2009, you were in your final year at Covenant University, what advice do you have for students in this category in the different Nigerian Universities?
My advice is Love yourselves and network with each other. You will need each other when you get out there….No matter what you think right now.
Parting words?
Whether in business or career, life is full of ups and downs. No matter what faces you in life, whether the Joy of Triumph or the Pain of regret, never lose sight of the big picture. Focus and humility are the fastest routes to success.

SPIRITUAL CATALYST

I welcome you to another episode of SUCCESS FROM WITHIN. This week we shall be focusing on a topic called CATALYST. In chemistry a catalyst is defined as a chemical substance that speed up or slow down the rate of chemical reaction without itself changing in the course of the reaction. Basically today we shall be treating SPIRITUAL CATALYST. A lot of persons so much believe that their result should be directly proportional to their input, such persons tend to limit themselves because their result will show both their efforts and errors. But everyone with the spiritual catalyst has a result that contains Outstanding success and mistakes that has translated them to stake holders. A spiritual catalyst is a spiritual substance that slows down and eradicates the rate of failure but speed up the rate of success and excellence, without the doer 'God' changing in the course of the process. God's grace is a virtue that expands all effort and correct all mistakes. This Spiritual Catalyst is only available for those who require it in their reaction. Acknowledge the presence of God in everything you do and he shall bless the works of your hand. Have a Perfect Week.

DILIGENCE

I welcome you to another episode of SUCCESS FROM WITHIN. This week we shall be focusing on a topic called DILIGENCE, It is important for us to know that the cure for Hardlife is Hardwork and also hardwork does not kill but hardlife does. To have more, we simply need to become more. Everyone simply wants to employ the best persons, hence we need to be intentionally diligent in our area or field of specialization. We need to continually develop ourselves because you can't get rich by demand but by being valuable. A great man called Steve Pavlina said that "when you discipline yourself to do what is hard, you gain access to a realm of results that are deprived by everyone else. The willingness to do what is different is like having a key to a special private treasure room". The best way to decrease your weakness level is simply by increasing your strength in your field. Have a glorious week. Sustainable Learning Performance Coach: Ajayi Adebayo. 08053246002

PURPOSE

I welcome you to the first episode of SUCCESS FROM WITHIN. Today we shall be focusing on a topic called PURPOSE, Martin Lurther King Jnr defines purpose as the overall reason for our existence. A lot of people get confused in life because they don't know what they ought to do in life, once the reason for your living is discovered, all you need to do is to focus on it and develop a sustainable platform for the enhancement of your mental creativity. Purpose transforms all potentials into Power! Ignite your Potentials today and be transformed! Enjoy your week. Sustainable Learning Performance Coach: Ajayi Adebayo Success
